National Bridal Market in Chicago

What a month it has been! September has been one crazy, but exciting month. As many of you know I have worked for a bridal store, Modern Dress in my hometown for almost three years now. This past weekend I was lucky enough to travel to Chicago to attend Bridal Market. This trip was such a wonderful learning experience and definitely was the perfect reassurance of my passion for fashion!

Saturday night was a fun night for us girls! We were able to go to dinner and experience a little of Chicago! For dinner we went to the cutest nautical themed restaurant called the Hampton Social!  

After enjoying dinner, we traveled to Restoration Hardware. I was immediately in heaven when entering Restoration Hardware! How fun to enjoy the atmosphere and people while going while moving from floor to floor admiring the design of each room!

To end the night we went to the Drake Hotel! This hotel has carried rich history in the city of Chicago. For over 80 years! The Drake Hotel has been described as a symbol of white glove elegance. The hotel has accommodated guests from Queen Elizabeth to Elizabeth Taylor. You could just feel the history as soon as you entered the grand hotel!

Market Day 1:

Rise and shine!

8 AM we were ready to go and enjoying breakfast at the Merchandise Mart. The Merchandise Mart is the second largest building in the world with 4,000,000 square feet in floor space. As we entered the 7th floor, I was overwhelmed with how many booths filled the room!

We first went to Mori Lee to enjoy a runway show and choose dresses from the Spring 2018 Collection! After the bridal show, we hand picked prom dresses! While picking out these dresses, you can quickly see what the trends will be this upcoming season!

After Mori Lee, we visited many other designers we carry at Modern Dress including, Badgley Mischka, Maggie Sottero, and Casablanca! The day was long, but the greatest hands on experience I could ever imagine!

 

Market Day 2:

Our second and final day began with Jasmine Bridal. After a little breakfast at Jasmine we quickly went to work to pick out Spring bridesmaids dresses!

After bridesmaids, we had to do a bit more prom shopping!  For prom we visited Faviana. Howard from Faviana showcased these beautiful prom dresses which made the experience even more entertaining! Day 2 came to an end and it was back to our little store in Iowa.

 

 I can't be thankful enough for this opportunity! I can't wait to go again!!
